After replacing the celeron in my working microserver with the e3 1265v2, I booted it up without a display and it seemed to power on fine. I then pressed the power switch and disconnected it from mains. Now when I plug it into mains the psu doesn't start and there is no sign of life (no power light, fans, etc). Wondering what could be the issue.
I have tried replacing the cmos, have tested the psu using a 24 pin jumper, left it unplugged overnight, replaced ram and cpu back to the oem parts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Note: sometimes when I plug it into the mains the power indicator flashes amber momentarily.

Re: Microserver Gen 8 appears dead after CPU upgrade
The CPU model which you have installed does not get listed under the quickspecs or the Service maintenance guide:-
https://h20427.www2.hpe.com/pdf/HP_ProLiant_MicroServer_Gen8_quicspec.pdf
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c03793258&page=GUID-5E91C407-AF7C-4FD7-B413-C90EA8C8C1E6.html
Please check the model of the CPU again. Please install compatible components and check.
