ProLiant MicroServer Gen10+ : M2 SSD on PCI riser card?
I have a HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus (E-2224, model no P16006-421)
I would like to make it boot from an SSD attached to a PCI adapter on the riser card (M.2 SSD?). I cannot find anything about that in the HP documentation.
Would someone know which adapter card and SSD cards would be compatible?
Thank you

Re: ProLiant MicroServer Gen10+ : M2 SSD on PCI riser card?
Based on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus quickspec, there is no M.2 SSD option available on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus server.

However you can use HPE Enterprise Mainstream Flash Media Kits for Memory Cards option for system boot.

Re: ProLiant MicroServer Gen10+ : M2 SSD on PCI riser card?
Firstly a disclaimer: It is not an officially supported configuration. So you are out of luck if it does not work.
But I have a Silverstone SST-ECM25 PCIe to NVMe M.2 riser working with a Samsung 960 Pro NVMe SSD.
I have not tried booting from it as it used as a cache drive in unraid, but it is detected in the UEFI and in iLO

Re: ProLiant MicroServer Gen10+ : M2 SSD on PCI riser card?
I have a MicroServer Gen10 Plus E-2224. I added a cheap NVME PCIe adapter., and boot from NVMe with no problem.

Re: ProLiant MicroServer Gen10+ : M2 SSD on PCI riser card?
Old, but do you remember how you configured it...
In my case the SATA disks are using тАЬHPE Software RaidтАЭ, do I have to change to AHCI for the disks? The SSD on PCIe cannot be seen in Bios (or Windows).
