ML110 G5 and RAID1: How to tell when a hdd fails?
I've a ML110 G5 set up with two HDDs in RAID1 on the built-in SATA RAID controller. In the event of a hdd failure, how would I be notified? I don't have any application for RAID management installed (Windows Server 2003). How would I know which hdd has failed?

Check in the ARRAY CARD BIOS/ROM, you will have all info there.
PS. if the RAID 1 is damaged the beeper should beep ;)

I've got 2 setup. Go to the support / drivers page and install the management software / service. It can be set to send you an email when faults arise.
