ML350 G4 Xeon Processor Installation and Anti Virus
I have a ML350 G4 server currently running one xeon 3.2 processor i have bought a second processer with heatsink and VRM unit but i cant see where the VRM unit goes and need some advice on any bios setting i need to change. also can anyone advise a good anti virus solution we have 25 workstations and the one server currently have symantec but it is dragging the system down any advice greatly appreciated

The unit is fitted in the PPM 2 socket as indicated by Item 11 on Page 40 of the Service Guide. Essentially it is along side the 2nd processor, parallel to the DIMM and PCI slots.
Ensure the you are using the latest system ROM and that the processors are identical. No changes to BIOS necessary.
As for anti virus, I have found McAfee SMB products to be very capable. The management tools are powerful, informative and make deployment and maintenance incredibly easy.
I have high regard for AVG's detection capabilities but think that the management tools are yet to fully mature.
