I can't get the srv to boot with DVD-RW connected to it. Not much help from neither HP tech support nor Lite-On. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. I have connected the drive to both primary and secondary controller with all combinations of Master, Slave, and Cable Select to no avail. The srv will not POST with LDW-811s connected; it will POST fine with CD-RW.

Re: ML350 LiteOn LDW-811s
1.) If not is the machine G2 or G3? If G2/G3 have you tried adding an additonal PSM incase DVD-RW is causing an under power situation for the machine? G1 has 300w, G2 has 350W with option for second, and G3 has 500W PSM with option for second.
2.)Check Lite-on's site FW update to DVD. Put drive in another system to flash.
Plus you will want to update BIOS for DVD ROM support as suggested above once machine will boot.

Re: ML350 LiteOn LDW-811s
Link to BIOS update for on-line flash in Windows:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/19807.html
OR a disk to boot to:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/19855.html
I will research Lite-on's site to see if there any settings on the DVD-RW that we are not taking note of.

SolutionHave you tried connecting to a PCI IDE controller in the ML 350 G3?
Unfortinately there maybe no resolve to this question except to wait for either the server BIOS to rev or the devices firmware to rev and try again then.
