NetServer E55 Gold upgrade problems

I own a HP Netserver E55 Gold (D9337A) with PII 450mhz cpu.
I would like to add another cpu, but my local HP suppliers tells me that the cpu upgrade kit is no longer available. So I purchased another cpu from ebay which is identical to the other one I have but now I need a Voltage Regulator so it will work. Any ideas where I am able to buy it?
Does anyone know if PIII 500mhz will work with my motherboard?
I am also unable to find any BIOS upgrade.
I have searched everywhere for information about E55 but I can only find info on E50 and E60.
My local HP dealer is of no help..

Re: NetServer E55 Gold upgrade problems

WOW! I'm not the only one with this model! Even with the same processor! I wasn't dreaming, it's true, it exists!!! :-)
Join the restricted group of an HP NetServer E55 Gold owners! ;-)
The only thing I can say to you is that for the HP Portugal (my country) this machine doesn't support dual processing although it has a second slot for another CPU... I wonder why... two slots with one supposed to never be used!?!?... ackward isn't it?... well...
Nevertheless I've tried with to equal PIII500 and... NOTHING... no response whatsoever (maybe its my lack of skills on this matter). I left just one of those and it's working till now so, you should have no problems there.
I've noticed (on schematics an ??in loco??) there are no VRM slots in this board and I doubt they have two diferent boards for the same "ghost" model so, I guess you'll not need that... do you have slots for VRMs on yours???
I still have the printed manuals for this machine (in case I need to prove its existenz ;-) ) but I was unable to find any document on-line regarding this model, all I have is the lpn11785.pdf regarding besides other models the E60 that seams to have the same board. I'm not attaching it here because of the 1 meg limit!
I hope this helps you at least a bit. GOOD LUCK! :-P
