When I boot this server I get the following error
0080-51 : Netserver Management ControllersFailure
0090-64 : DIMM management failure
I tried to update the bios but it fails. Heard a patch exists for this but cannot find it.
Thanks...Pierre

Re: NetServer LPR Boot Errors
I find the solution.
It's not a patch...
The solution is:
On the flash bios disk edit the phlshwrp.ini and delete the "Component=SDR" section.
Now you can flash your netserver without any error.
A forum wihtout answer is a dead forum...
Thanks. Pierre.

Re: NetServer LPR Boot Errors
That's probably not the smartest thing to do. There is a fix available for this error, and not by editing an ini file. I would contact HP support for the correct way of fixing this issue.

Re: NetServer LPR Boot Errors
This should do it... but be carefull
Start with solution A and continue down until you find one that works. If this doesnt rectify the problem contact HP as you may need your MB replaced.
_______________________________________________
Solution A:
Disconnect power cord for 1 minute. Reconnect and pray the error is gone.
If this does not work, then try solution B.
Solution B:
Flash BIOS, + Clear CMOS using the DIP switch on the motherboard.
If this does not work, then try solution C.
Solution C:
Disconnect power cord for 1 minute
Boot from an MS-DOS boot floppy.
Insert the BIOS update floppy,
manually type at the A:/>
"flashmmc lprra_us.bin" (Enter, screen shown) (no quotes)
"sdredit -w -f list_lpr.sdr" (Enter, no screen shown) (no quotes)
Then reboot the machine from BIOS floppy, and run normal BIOS scriptfile as normal
If this does not work, then try solution D.
Solution D:
First a Clear CMOS to take controller out of Bad state
Please preform a CLEAR CMOS.
- machine off, disconnect power cord.
- open case.
- find switch block
- throw switch 5 to the other side.
- turn the machine on for 10 seconds
- turn machine off.
- throw switch 5 back
- replace casing
- power up
- Go into the F2 BIOS because of a config change, to draw a new CMOS image.
- Then press escape until you have left the BIOS, SAVING the changes.
then continue as above in Solution C:
2. Boot from an MS-DOS boot floppy.
3. Insert the BIOS update floppy, manually run
a) flashmmc lprra_us.bin (screen)
b) sdredit -w -f list_lpr.sdr (no screen)
4. Then reboot the machine from BIOS floppy, and run normal BIOS scriptfile as normal
