Hi, I currently have a Smart Array 221 and 4 9.1GB non hot plug drives in a proliant, I want to upgrade the drives to 36.4GB or larger but I can't find out if they support drives bigger than 18.2GB.
Does it work with 36GB hot plug drives, if it needs a new firmware which one does it need, I think it is on 4.16
Thanks

Hi Darren,
I have an array of 7 36.4 GB drives working on one of my two installed 221's on a Proliant 800 machine. Has been working for over two years now without a problem.
It is always a good idea to upgrade your firmware as soon as an upgrade becomes available. Now the 221 is up to 5.20.0.32c.
So have a look here:

Enjoy.
