SmartArray P400 RAID config
Can a RAID 1+0 config be made across 8 SAS drives spanning port 1 & 2? What limitations do ports have on configuration options?

Re: SmartArray P400 RAID config
Yes, a RAID volume can span all drives that the controller detects which includes 8 drives across the 2 internal ports. Port boundaries do not impose any limitation on the configuration options.

Re: SmartArray P400 RAID config
Thanks, I think I know the answer to next question: Is there a non-painful way to change RAID config w/out wiping data (short of Ghost or such)?

Re: SmartArray P400 RAID config
Yes, the Smart Array controllers support RAID migration and\or volume migrations. You'll find these options within the Array Configuration Utility (aka ACU). To learn more about this, check out the HP Smart Array Controller Technology white paper or the P400 User Guide.
