Trying to upgrade to Windows XP
I was running Windows 2000 Pro on E60 as desktop PC, I tried to upgrade to Windows XP via upgrade route, however, during install device driver stage, the progress bar was around 60%, the E60 starting to boot itself into to an endless loop, are there any known problems? (I downloaded and upgrade the BIOS in May 2001).
The more I read, the less I know:-(

Re: Trying to upgrade to Windows XP
HP doesn't support Windows XP on the e60's. I recently installed XP Pro on my e800 (also not supported), and I had a heck of a time doing it. Persistence turned to victory however. I had to do the install from scratch, booting off the CD. However, for reasons unbeknownst to me, I could only get a succesfull install using a SCSI CD drive that I had installed. When using the IDE CD Drive that came with the system, the install would continue to hang.
