Hey all ,
We have set up Nagios in monitoring one of the main switches and it has been working fine for the past 3 years. SInce 4 months now we are receiving an alert in Nagios that the device is not reachable. At that time we can connect without any issues to the switch so its just from Nagios point of view.
I launched the snmpwalk command every 2 minutes yesterday.
It worked well (with a normal output) until 17h20m20s - UTC (last OK).
Then it timed out.
It worked again at 18h12m51s (UTC) and the output was identical as the one before the issue.
It seems that the issue happens everyday around the same time (17h20 UTC) and only for this specific device.
From what the Sys logs show every time at around 17:00 - 17:30 UTC, the switch is receiving SNMP commands that it does not know how to interpret. Message is "failed to send command or get response while handling get-next-request".
If my answer helped you don't forget to Kudos
