Account Configuration - JAVA errors

I am encountering errors with the Account Configuration screen.

Here is the first part of the error: "Servlet has thrown exception:javax.servlet.ServletException javax"

I can post the whole error if needed.

I have tried re-installing CIM 7 fresh and also on top of the existing installation. I have removed and re installed the management agents for the server.

All this with with no luck. I need to figure this out in order to continue evaluating this software. Any other ideas??? Thanks to all.

Re: Account Configuration - JAVA errors

Nothing that i did had worked before i have installed everything; but i had used the option "System Erase Utility" in the CD SmartStart; i tried a lot of things before the reinstallation (IE 6.0 upgrade, ServicePack 2a for Win2K, to solve Java problems, etc) but nothing worked; but, the bad news: i had to reinstall everything from the top more than once!! So, i am not sure this is the solution, but i hope it helps!!

Re: Account Configuration - JAVA errors

Try going to Control Panel/Java PlugIn and clear the Cache to see if the Plug In is caching some information...

Re: Account Configuration - JAVA errors

Clearing the JAVA plug-in cache didn't help, still getting the same error.

Can you post the full error? Also was this seen when you first visit the page or when editing or adding users?

Re: Account Configuration - JAVA errors

I get this error when I attempt to access the Account Configuration screen only. I do not get to the point to edit or create a user.

All the other screens/windows within CIM seem to work correctly.

Here is the whole error:

I have also just today performed the following actions:

Reloaded CIM 7 once again (4 times now, I think), this time I change the user name specified during the install to use a domain level account. I was using a local computer user account previously. I am still using the same certificate and SQL 2000 SP2 database.

My next option is to install CIM 7 on a different server and connect to the database that exists on the current server. That would tell me if it as database issue. I have a feeling that it would work that way, just a hunch. It would appear that this configuration of my server has something to do with my problem.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Account Configuration - JAVA errors

Please call Compaq and open a support case. They are much better equipped to get the details and work your problem. This is defiantely not a known issue but one we'd like to get to the bottom of.
