Adding Customer Certificates to Insight Agents
Quick Background:
Win2k OS's
Insight Manager 7, with Insight Agents installed from the 5.30 CD
Certificate Services for Windows 2000 being used
We will have about 40-50 Compaq Proliant DL380 G2 Servers that we will want to manage with Insight Manager 7.
We have an internal CA that we use for assigning Certificates.
Per the CIM 7 Tech. Ref. Guide, I have imported the CA's certifcate into CIM under the Trusted Certificates section.
I am now attempting to create a Customer Generated Certificate on the Managed Agent. I have successfully generated the PKCS #10 data from the Agents HTTP site, I have succssfully submitted this data to our Internal Certificate Server, I have successfully Issued the Certificate and retrieved it from our CA. Here is when I run into the error. When I go back to the Managed Agent's HTTP site and try to input the PKCS #7 data I receive an error that reads: PKCS #7 Certificate Import Error, The Certificate could not be imported from the supplied PKCS #7 data. Check the following, make sure the input text is base64 encoded PKCS #7 data (it is), make sure the input PKCS #7 data was intended for this server (it is).
Any assistance to help me accomplish importing the certificate would be greatly appreciated.
