Broken install of WEB agents

I downloaded and installed in the foundation, NIC, storage, and server agents for our proliant ML370, after i uninstalled version 4.7. I got things up and running, but when I go to the "compaq management agents" from the device homepage on the web it gives me a 404 error on WEBAGENNTS/INDEX.TPL I even tried copying the INDEX.TPL file from the ENG directory to the WEBAGENTS dir and it didn't help any.

Shoudl I go back a level to 4.9? Are there known issues with 5.0? Do any compaq people answer questions here? Last time I had a question about 4.7 I got nowhere here....

Re: Broken install of WEB agents

Just wondering. Do you have a proxy setup for your web browser? If so you may have to exclude the IP address of the server you want to view. I fell into that little hole a few times.

I'm seeing the same thing. I tried uninstalling all of the agents and reinstalling from the 5.4 CD, still have the same problem. Also no help from Compaq Tech support.

Re: Broken install of WEB agents

I jacked with this thing for a few hours yesterday and I think I have the solution. We configure SNMP security to allow SNMP packets only from specific IP addresses. When I allow any IP address, everything works. I found through some experiments that if I add the loopback IP (127.0.0.1) to my existing list, the problem is solved. This also fixed my problem with the Version Control Agent not working. Hope this works for you.
