Cannot get into port 2301 on a Web Enabled server

When trying to get into the Compaq Management Agents on a single server (it works for others) i.e. http://localhost:2301/webagent/index.tpl
I keep getting this error:
HTTP Status 404, Not Found
User: 0007
Group: administrator
Request: /WEBAGENT/INDEX.TPL

I have logged in successfully as Administrator, can get to the Survey page no problem, however, I have no luck getting to the Subsystem reports.

This will happen both locally or remotely. There is no Proxy server in use, and there is no security internally getting in the way. I have check NTFS permission, checked to see if the file is there (they all are) and have gone as far as reinstallation of all the agents. I do not want to have to rebuild this box, just to be able to access the Insight Manager Web Agents.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Cannot get into port 2301 on a Web Enabled server

I am getting the same error. What's so strange about this, is I installed Insight Manager and it's Web agent's on March 9, 2001. After the install was complete, I could view the server by using my browse. Today is March 11, 2000, and I'm now getting HTTP Status 404, Not Found. Request: /WEB AGENT/INDEX.TPL.

This server is a DL580 with WindowsNT 4.0 Terminal Server and Citrix Metaframe 1.8 on top.

Re: Cannot get into port 2301 on a Web Enabled server

Well it seems like the Management agents are not going to port 2301

When adding a server to IMXE monitoring you have to make sure that the web enabled agents are started before the server is added, otherwise IMXE will gather server status through SNMP instead of port 2301 when browsing to the web enabled agents.
If you have already added a server with this service stopped and have afterwards started this service, IMXE will still look for SNMP status when browsing for server info.

FIX:
1) Remove the server from IMXE by deleting it from the database.
2) Go to the server and verify that the Compaq Web Enabled Service is started.
3) Re-add the server to IMXE.
4) Run the SNMP polling and Initial data collection tasks.

Also make sure that the web enabled agents are started on the IMXE server itself.

Re: Cannot get into port 2301 on a Web Enabled server

I went thru the steps that were suggested and got the same results. Also, un-installed and re-installed the Compaq Managements for servers, still got same results. I can not scratch this server and start over, any other suggestions.

I'd highly recommend calling customer services and opening a case. This isn't a known issue but we'd really like to get to the bottom of it.

Re: Cannot get into port 2301 on a Web Enabled server

I was able to resolve this issue by stopping the webagent service on a server that was responding properly, copying the entire contents of the folder \winnt\system32\CPQMgmt\webagent to the server that was having the issue with it's webagent services stopped. After the copy was complete, I restarted the webagent service on the affected server, it 'rebuilds' the contents and now functions properly.

Re: Cannot get into port 2301 on a Web Enabled server

Make sure in SNMP config on security page that either "any IP address" is allowed or 127.0.0.1 is included. This fixed the same problem for me
