I've noticed that over the last little while I've been getting multiple reoccuring errors even after I clear them. When I go into these events most of the time I notice that the Logs show events that have happened a while ago.
Is there any ramifications to deleting these events from the database? If I delete them will the events no longer come up, or will they still come up but be a true "Up to Date" representation of the error.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

SolutionJust clear the events after acknowledging them. When you clear them, It will no longer show under the uncleared event section of IM-7. You should then create a control task that deletes all cleared events every week or every month depeneds on how long you wish to keep your historical data. To put this short, Any new events you see coming up under the UNCLEARED EVENTS section, are considered real or legit events. Those events are real time snmp traps sent from the clients so they are not duplicates.

Re: Clearing Events vs Deleting events
Good pratice is to check the IM7 server often or when you receive a notification. After acknowledging that there is an issue or there isn't one, then simply clear the event. Create a control task that deletes your cleared events ater a month. I would suggest keeping your cleared events around for a month just to be on the safe side should you need them as historical data. In my case I always find myself using historical data to get out of a jam :)

Re: Clearing Events vs Deleting events
I'm not sure if this would also delete the old Event Data as well.
