Cluster Monitoring Error
We use IM7 to watch a number of devices which includes a bunch of Alphas 8400 within a Cluster. When on the homepage, I clicked on one of the cluster members to get the "device page".
I am getting 2 types of errors when I click on any one of the links under the device link (i.e. Cluster Monitor. The first error is that I get the following error: "scope of profile of user wilnet.....\administrator does not contain the requested device...To view the device 190.XX.XX.XX please ask the administrator to include it in your scope.
I am already logged in as administrator on the IM7 Server. The device in question is already seen on the general homepage with a normal symbol next to it. I am able to get some traps and poll related information.
The second error that I am getting is when I check the link under the same area on the device page "System Mamagement Homepage", I get an Browser error saying that page cannot be seen. I have checked all the security settings and suggestions and still no luck.
In the past, prior to installing to IM7 SP2.3 from SP2.0, I was able to connect to this device's system page and see what I need to see (disk threshold and etc..) and since the upgrade, I noticed I am not able to see it.
Any suggestions or leads? Are there suppose to be agents installed on the Alpha machines?
Tom

Yes. You didn't mention the OS
the Alphas are running (but I think
the answer is the same for Tru64 and OpenVMS).
For Tru64, there is also a local Insight Manager management web server. Point
your browser at http:://:2301
It's possible that the admins have disabled
Insight Manager on the system or they
have disabled SNMP. Both are controlled
by variables in /etc/rc.config.

Re: Cluster Monitoring Error
As Peter has asked, knowing the OS would be useful here.
In IM under Settings / Cluster Monitor you add the Clusters a particular User can monitor.

Re: Cluster Monitoring Error
The OS on the IM7 Server is Windows2000 Server and the OS on the Alphas is VMS 7.3
Hope this helps. I can get to these devices from my laptop via the Broswer by typing http://:2301. and I get in to what I want to see but not able to do this within IM7.
