Re: Event ID 1010
The Collect Procedure for the "Tcpip" service in DLL "C:\WINNT\system32\Perfctrs.dll" generated an exception or returned an invalid status. Performance data returned by counter DLL will be not be returned in Perf Data Block. Exception or status code returned is data DWORD 0. However I also get errors from W3SVC,ASP,Inetinfo and ftp counters. If you look in the performance monitor IP and TCP counters are missing from the list.
This is very frustrating

Re: Event ID 1010
I still see Event ID 1010s under SP4.
I'm applying some fixes as per MS Knowledge Base Article 267831 for similar Event ID 2003s.
On some Servers herre the Event ID 1010 and 2003 are triggered at the same time.
Fixing one "might" have an impact on the other. It's all a bit of a mystery!

Re: Event ID 1010
When I went through all our servers we can see that this only happens when you are using a gigabit adapter (NC77XX)
Anyone else with the same prob?

Re: Event ID 1010
As an aside, anyone notice that you can not run perfmon against the compaq NIC's? The NIC doesn't appear in the list of metrics you can measure. (At least with the NC77xx and the NC6136 Nics). Maybe that's why we get these errors? No entry points for the performance data built into the drivers?
Thanks for you comment on SP4 Rob, I was kind of thinking I might have to apply that service pack to try and get rid of this, but if you say it has no effect, I won't worry about it.
Looks like we are still scratching our heads here. Anyone from HP had a serious look at whats going on?

Re: Event ID 1010
All Servers showing varying amounts of Perlib Event ID 1010 Errors are:
DL360 G2s, DL360 G3s and DL380 G3s. All these have the NC7780 NICs.
We have several DL380 G2s, which have the NC3163s, they do not seem to generate the Event ID 1010 Errors.
We're running the majority of these at 100MB / Full Duplex, some are set to 1GB.
We have installed an NC7131 into a DL580, that is NOT generating any Perflib Errors.
Any comments from HP?

Re: Event ID 1010
In any event - would everybody seeing this problem please log a case with HP Support on the issue? That way when the solution is found you can find out quickly.
I will post here (and in the other thread with the similar name) as soon as I get any more information on the topic.

Re: Event ID 1010
I was having this problem on a DL380 coupled with an other warning just before the error it's event id was 2003 I found a solution to this and this has stopped the error for me.
Hope it helps....
If during the installation of Windows 2000, you:
- Have Setup format at FAT or FAT32 boot drive
- Have Setup install IIS in the same process
opening System Monitor to add counters will generate an Event Id in the Application log similar to:
The configuration information of the performance library "C:\WINNT\system32\w3ctrs.dll"
for the "W3SVC" service does not match the trusted performance library information
stored in the registry. The functions in this library will not be treated as trusted.
The configuration information of the performance library "C:\WINNT\system32\infoctrs.dll"
for the "InetInfo" service does not match the trusted performance library information
stored in the registry. The functions in this library will not be treated as trusted.
The configuration information of the performance library "C:\WINNT\system32\aspperf.dll"
for the "ASP" service does not match the trusted performance library information
stored in the registry. The functions in this library will not be treated as trusted.
This problem doesn't happen if you had chosen NTFS, or installed IIS later.
To resolve the problem:
1. Open a CMD prompt.
2. Type the following commands:
cd /d %SystemRoot%\System32
unlodctr w3svc
unlodctr asp
unlodctr inetinfo
lodctr w3ctrs.ini
lodctr axperf.ini
lodctr infoctrs.ini
Here is the link for the page I found this.
Again this is for event id 2003.

Do you have that info available yet? We are seeing this one too but it's not a big enough deal to us to justify opening an incident at this stage :)

Thanks for the update, I see you'll have a pretty large and responsive test bed to see if it works!

Re: Event ID 1010
For the G3 I made the change in the registry and the error disappeared from the event log. BUT the performance is still very bad.
I use my G3├в s as terminal servers, and several times a day the servers almost stall (same time as the time stamp from the 1010 event). A real catastrophe for me and all of my users. It must be a problem with some HP/Compaq drivers. If I downgrade the same configuration onto a EVO 510 or d530, I have a pretty good performance and NO hangers.
Anybody had problems with terminal servers on DL380 G3├в s ?
Maybe I should set up a server farm of EVOs instea

Re: Event ID 1010
Lars, what OS and SP do you have on those G3's. There is reports of Win2k Terminal Servers locking up/performance problems, etc. after installing SP4. Whether you are running Citrix or not, check this link out, it has a link to MS SP hotfixes.
