Hi Folks!
Is it possible to change the Thermal Threshold Values of the HP Management Agents?
I can set the thresholds for CPU and Disks
but not for thermal values.
(I'm not using the Insight Manager)
Thanks very much,
RH

Solution
The thermal thresholds are hard coded into the hardware itself during its development. Each sensor has a unique threshold set based on its location and the unique characteristics of that server (so for example, the disk thermal thresholds on the DL360G3 are different than the disk thermal thresholds on the DL380G2.)
So, the answer is no - you can't do this. But it is because it would really be impossible for you to do this - it would have to be done on a per-sensor per-server basis and that would just be too difficult.
Oh, that and HP doesn't really want you messing with these either. The values are set right by us - just make sure you're getting the Caution threshold notices and don't sorry about thermals unless you see one.

Dude, we've been totally misled by our album covers!

Re: HP Management Agents - setting Thermal Thresholds
Hi Scott!
Thanks for your answer. I dont want to change
them so i can heat my server until it explodes. :)
I am searching for a solution to alarm
environment changings. So to get alramed if the temperature rises several degrees.
But what you said makes sense of course. I just thought there is a method to lower them (not to increase)
Thanks again,
RH
