IM7 does not identify a server built with W2K3.
I built a server W2K3 standard server with snmp using agents from the 7.00 SS.If I open up the filter in IM-7 to accept other devices I see the traps generated and get the device in the other list identified as a other device. What do I need to do to get the server identified as a server.

Re: IM7 does not identify a server built with W2K3.
WS03 by default restricts the SNMP service to only respond to requests from localhost. That means that during Initial or Daily Device Identification your system is rejecting the requests from IM7 to identify itself.
Go Administrative Tools --> Services --> SNMP service and add your IM7's DNS name or IP address to the allowed hosts (or just choose 'Accept SNMP packets from any host' if you want to). While there, make sure that you have a community string set that has READ-WRITE or better privileges. The various agents use SNMP internally for communication.

Re: IM7 does not identify a server built with W2K3.
I spoke to soon. I ran the daily device identification task and the device changed from type other to type server.
