integrating insight manager with tivoli via event log

Hi,

A customer of ours wants us to monitor the hardware status of their NT servers via our existing Tivoli environment. I know that there's an integration module that plugs into tivoli and has ready made monitors and such, but as far as I can see, they all rely on snmp.
Now, I heard from our NT guys who are responsible for these servers that they will install security fixes on these servers which will disable SNMP.
So I assume this integration package will not work then ?

I was thinking of changing the event log adapter from tivoli so that any messages from insight manager that make it to the local event log, get picked up by the event log adapter. Is this possible ? I know that this is the way the dell integration with tivoli works, but dell delivers the necessary .fmt files which i need to parse the event log.
Are these files also available from compaq ?
Can someone tell me if compaq insight manager can even work locally if the snmp service is not available ?
