Mobile SMS notifications of alarms UK/Vodafone

Can anyone give me some advice or recommend software to allow me to generate SMS text messages to my support staff when Insight Manager detects an alarm. I would like to use the Vodafone network. I have tried to use the pager dialog boxes and a modem but without success - do I need third party software and a GSM card for my Insight Agent workstation?

Vodafone have a TAP compliant SMS dial-in service, tel 0385 499993, 9600,8,n,1. I'm having a few problem with this at the moment though and it has been escalated to Compaq tech support, I'm told IM may need to be reconfigured as it uses a proprietry US TAP protocol and it needs to be changed to the worldwide version - I don't know how to do this yet.
CIM will send messages using the above number but it doesn't session doesn't finalize properly and CIM reports that the message wasn't sent although it DOES get received at the phone.
Set the phone number in the alert setting as the number above and set the pager ID to the number of your phone, make sure you set it to send messages at 160 characters.

do you have a case number, we have the exact same issue... I've done loads of work on this and came to the same conclusion, it fails on VodaPage or Vodafone UK SMS...

I'm not sure about Vodafone, but I've managed to get it working with Cellnet using 0860 980480 as the dialup service number + using 9600, 1, 8, n on the port setup.
Maybe if you can't get it working with Vodafone, a last resort could be to switch to Cellnet....?

Just to follow up, mailing from Ireland having same problem using EIRPAGE pager service, connect to there modem but get bounced out with message "TAP Login error or parity error" not parity tried all options.
Funny thing is (currently using XE) but this works on old CIM with same config and numbers. EIRPAGE reckon there TAP compliant so maybe im using a default US TAP protocol or something...cant see anywhere within XE to modify this or use a script etc. Currently monitoring a live system and same as above spent a lot of time on this .. need help asap... cant get in contact with anyone in compaq whose successfully done this yet using Irish paging service provider.

I've been trying this for ages, has anyone ever managed to get this working with 'ORANGE'????
