Server status with RIB Board w/o external power adapter

We note that all of the servers on which we have not installed the external power adapter on the RIB Board...mostly in our data center with very stable power...show as a "degraded" status with the only item being the RIB Power. Is there a way we can have CIM7 ignore this condition in computing status since we consider this to be normal in these cases?

Unfortunately, it is the agents running on those devices that are reporting the "degraded" status. At this time, there is no way to change the status being reported. This has been fed back to the engineering groups.

In addition, what is the reason why you don't use the power backup?

We don't use the adapter in some cases for different reasons:
1. In some cases it was inadvertently not ordered.
2. In some cases, we use 220v racks and did not have a 220v power cable
3. At our Data Center, there is always someone on hand, so the added functionality seems limited.

Plug them in and put them all on a power stip if you don't have enough outlets in the rack.

Why not disable montioring of the RIB's using the compaq management icon in control panel. not ideal but will turn the servers back to green to allow you to spot serious problems with disk etc...
