I have just installed insight mamager 7 SP2.3 on a workstation to monitor our servers (Windows NT/2000 based with various patches, hot fixes, service packs, etc). I have installed the latest version of the management agents on the servers (6.10 for NT servers and 7 for the W2K servers) Some of these server has pervious versions of the support tools installed. The majority of my servers show up in inight manager with the exception of 3 windows NT based servers. I have triple checked that i have configured SNMP correctly (configered it idential to the other servers), I am able to ping the servers via the insight manager PC, the remote management agent is installed but they still do not show up. Also of several servers, i cannot connect to them via internet explorer 5.5, 6.0 and 6.0 with all updates installed (locally on the server and remotely) on port 2301 or 2381. I constantly recieve blocked cookie errors. I have deleted the cookies, set the security polices to low, allowed all cookies but still have had no luck. Finally, on 1 of the servers, when i connect to the web agent locally with http:\\servername:2301, it logs me in automatically with the anon account, but when i select the login url to login as admin, i then recieve the webpage regarding the blocked cookies.
Any help is appeciated in clearing up this mess, I am the replacement for someone who has left the company so I did not have any prt in any software\hardware config until now.

Solution
Do the affected servers have an underscore character "_" as part of their hostname? See KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316112

Re: Several problems with insight manager
Yes, the affected servers do have underscores in the name. When I try to manage them remotely via http://ip address:2301 it works correctly. But i still have 3 other servers which have underscores in their name that do not show up in insight manager period, while others with undersores do show up. The 3 servers are windows NT based. I am able to ping, and access their resources (files, printers) without issue. The only thing that is not constant with the other servers and the PC running insight manager is that they are in a different domain. Finally, I am not able to install the ver 5.5 of the support paq via CD on 1 of my servers, the files copy over, and as soo ans the install portion begins, the processor peaks and runs at 100% I have rebooted the server and retried but the same thing happens. This is a ML530 G1, WinNT based server.
Thanks for the previous help, hopefully you can help me with this issue.
