SNMP Service won't start

The majority of the Compaq services on a couple of my servers fail to start as SNMP service won't start up.

I get the following error :-

The SNMP Service returned service specific error 3.

Can anyone offer any help please ?

My recommendation would be to reapply the latest OS Service Pack that you are running. This will update SNMP and fix most of these types of problems.

However, if that doesn' do it you should uninstall then reinstall the agents.

If that still doesn't work I'd call Compaq and open a support case.
