Some servers being found, some not. Help!

I adjusted the SNMP settings on some servers and then ran discovery. Some of the servers were found, some were not. They are all the same model, etc. These servers were ghosted with a sysprepped image and then I changed the SNMP settings. What can I do to get them to be seen?

Hi,

I use an older version of CIM, but I experienced a similar problem. Try reinstalling SNMP, it worked fine for me.
I'm afraid is the only idea I can give you.

Try searching for GUID in these Forums. There are issues where Servers are "ghosted" and the GUID is the same between Servers.

There's a couple of posts that go into this in some detail.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that these are Dell servers.

Ok, here is what I have figured out. On all our servers (Compaq & Dell) I needed to put the SNMP communities and the trap info in. For the Dell servers I needed to install the OpenManage Server Administrator. Without the OpenManage the server would not be found in the discovery, even with the SNMP info entered into the server.
