Unable to install database schema
I have read the previous posts on this error, and all seem related to SQL2000. I am running SQL7.0 in W2K server. I have updated the MDAC to the newest on MS-Web site, 2.61..... I have also tried to make the changes specified about the named instance. I do not remember having that option in SQL 7 installations. Anyway it is very difficult to adjust the database.props file when after acknowledging this error it proceeds to uninstall everything, including that file.

Re: Unable to install database schema
You are correct, SQL7 does not have Named Instances - that is something new for SQL2000.
Prior to getting this error message, did you have a failed install, and then this error message comes up subsequently? We have not seen this particular error condition in the lab environment.
I would suggest starting "fresh" - make sure Insight Manager XE is completely uninstalled, go to Control Panel/ODBC and delete the INSIGHT_DB_V2 DSN, and make sure that the INSIGHT_DB_V2 database is dropped in SQL Enterprise Manager (also make sure the LDF and MDF files are deleted - by deleting in Enterprise Manager, this should happen automatically).
Once you have a completely "clean" system, then reinstall.
