User Groups and CPQHMMD.ACL

I am running the version of PSP/SMH that uses OS authentication and I am trying to use the old trick of copying a CPQHMMD.ACL from a configured server to an unconfigured server, trying to bring in the domain group I have defined with User rights. It is not working, though. Any ideas?

Use the 'Replicate agents settings' feature of HPSIM instead or preconfigure SMH with the remote deployment utility 'setup.exe' from the PSP to have SMH installed and configured the way you want.

Re: User Groups and CPQHMMD.ACL

Preconfiguring is not an option, since the agents are already installed. Also, we do not have SIM setup in production yet, so that is not an option. I was hoping that there was a quick trick to get the user groups put out there like we used to be able to do with the admin account and CPQHMMD.ACL.

Re: User Groups and CPQHMMD.ACL

The file that is similar to CPQHMMD.ACL is the smhpd.xml file. It can be found in the \hp\hpsmh\conf subdirectory. Setup a system with the settings you want and you can propagate the security settings this way if you like. It will require SMH to be restarted to take effect though.
