Version Control Agent Errors

I'm getting errors with the VCA agent(2.0) on the server that is running CIM7 sp2.1. Windows 2000SP3, DL380G2. Insight agents V 6.40
When viewing the server from within Insight or the servers Home page, the Insight Agents, and Version control agents show a "No Status"
I've uninstalled, reinstalled the agents. I've checked that the services are running, etc. This server is also the Version Control Respository manager.
Attached are the errors I see.
Any help would be apppreciated.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Version Control Agent Errors

The first thing that I would check is to make sure that you have a community string specified in the SNMP Properties of the OS. You need at least one that has readcreate rights (for the mgmt agents to work right), plus if you have IP restriction enabled, you need to have loopback, 127.0.0.1, added to the "Accept" list on the server itself.

Re: Version Control Agent Errors

Thanks for the advice. I checked the SNMP service on the server and it has the proper READ/WRITE community strings in it. I currently have an asterisk to accept all ranges in my "Accept" IP ranges.

Re: Version Control Agent Errors

And you have configured the VC Agent to point to the VCRM with the correct account and password details?

And then Selected the Softpaq for which to do the Comparison?

You still need to do this, even for the VCA that is on the same Server as the VCRM

Re: Version Control Agent Errors

The manager part of the settings are correct, and I've verified that by looking at other servers that point to that Repository manager. The servers see that server as the manager, and indicate green and show the correct support pack. The problem is that the Repository manager's VCA agent shows a "no status", so I'm unable to configure it to point to itself. When I click on the VCA hyper link in insight agent window in an attempt to configure it I receive and error "The Version Control Agent encountered an error while obtaining the software and firmware inventory."
