I have two identical HP DL380. I have been able to connect to both of them via iLO and open the Remote Console up to now. Since yesterday I have a problem connecting to one of them (connection works, but the remote console does not open. A black window appears and the message 'java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect'). It cannot be a java-problem on the client, the other one works fine.
My firewall colleagues checked the ports and all the standard iLO Ports are open.
Please - anyone any ideas?

Solution
- Do they have the same version of iLO firmware?
- Do they have license keys installed?
- What generation servers?
It sounds like one of the systems is refusing to allow network connections to the Remote Console. I suggest trying to reset that iLO processor. This is straight-forward:
iLO 1: browse to the network settings page and hit "apply"
iLO 2: browse to System Status/Diagnostics and hit the "reset" button.

Re: Connections problems via ILO
Thanks acartes,
resetting the iLO via the network settings worked. Now the remote console ist cooperative again.
