HPONCFG "Failure when trying to detect firmware flash"
On a DL380 G4, when using HPONCFG.exe and the add_user.xml file I get the following error:
ERROR: Failure when trying to detect firmware flash.
RESP CMD = 178
RESP SEQ = 86
RESP LEN = 23d0
Its got the latest driver and firmware (and have reinstalled both), and I've tried disabling and enabling the iLo to no avail. Since we cannot currently login to the iLo, I can't ssh into it to put the flash file either.
Any suggestions please?

Re: HPONCFG "Failure when trying to detect firmware flash"
Looks like this problem is happening because HPONCFG is having some
problem in communicating with iLO.HPONCFG uses the iLO driver
interface to communicate with iLO management hardware.
Questions
1.Reboot the server and check if you are getting the prompt
"Integrated Lights Out Press F8 to configure".?
2.Can you ping iLO.? (i.e.ping)

Re: HPONCFG "Failure when trying to detect firmware flash"
Thanks for the suggestions. I can ping the iLo, and can access the iLo web console. Unfortunately we don't know what the login and password has been set up as.
Normally, we would use HPONCFG.exe and add_user.xml to resolve this. But this error comes up. . . .

Re: HPONCFG "Failure when trying to detect firmware flash"
We are getting this same error on a DL380 G4 too. Does anyone have any idea of resolving the problem?
Thanks.
Thanks.
