Hi,
Our Proliant DL380 G5 has problems with ILO 2 advanced (1.79 or 1.80).
When i open any of the remote console options it shows the server in 4 bit @ 640 x 480.
I have tried different Java versions but no cure.
Is there a fix for this issue ?
ps. on the console itself the right resolution is configured and working.

Solution
hi ernst,
What versions of Java have you tried? Here are some recommendations from the iLO help screens:
>> Select a lower remote server screen resolution to improve the performance of the Remote Console. The maximum supported resolution is 1280x1024 pixels.
>> The color quality of the remote server has no effect on the performance of the remote console. The Remote Console is rendered in 4096 (12-bit) colors.
>> Use a non-animated mouse pointer on the remote system.
>> Disable "mouse trails" on the remote system.
good luck!

Re: ILO 2 remote console 4 bit 640 x 480
It seems the videocarddriver is the issue.
When i connect to the server directly with dameware for instance i get similar problems.
I will install a new videodriver and expect this to be the solution !
Thx

The videocard driver needed replacing.
