Everything about the iLO II works perfectly, except one thing...whenever I connect to the integrated remote console, I cannot use my mouse. The mouse on the target server is shown, but I have no control over it. I've tried clicking on the remote console and also right-click to re-allign the mouse, but with no response.
Any help much appreciated.

Re: iLO II Remote Console Issue (no mouse control)
I have now raised a support call with HP and will post any solution that they provide, but I wouldn't hold your breath (I have support calls with HP still open from 3 months ago!!).
Cheers

Re: iLO II Remote Console Issue (no mouse control)
If KB works and mouse does not, I would examine the high-performance mouse setting. Try disabling it and see if that affects the experience whtn you restart IRC.

Re: iLO II Remote Console Issue (no mouse control)
The keyboard functions perfectly, regardless of settings employed.
I've opened a support call with HP, so I guess, in about a year or so, I'll be able to post an update!!!
Cheers

Re: iLO II Remote Console Issue (no mouse control)
The host OS is Windows Server 2003, and I have tried both a PS2 and a USB mouse, but to no avail.
Cheers

Re: iLO II Remote Console Issue (no mouse control)
Since you indicate that the virtual keyboard works and the virtual mouse does not, I would check the control panel to make sure that the mouse settings have not been altered.
For Windows, I recommend using the high-performance mouse mode.

Re: iLO II Remote Console Issue (no mouse control)
Nothing disabled on the server and/or iLO2. It doesn't seem to matter if the remote server has a PS2 or USB mouse plugged in, or even none at all. No drivers have been disabled, and now I've lost all of my hair.
I've reported this to HP, but you guys have already suggested everything that they have come up with...and now the calls from them with any more help have stopped...hmmmm..
Thanks all

Re: iLO II Remote Console Issue (no mouse control)
Many thanls for all of your assistance with this issue, but at last I nailed it!
I know this is going to sound so obvious, but I found that one of the server's 'USB Human Interface Devices' in Windows 'Device Manager' had been disabled. Simply re-enabling this has solved the problem.
It would appear that this particular device must controller the 'virtual' mouse for the Remote Console. There are two of these devices, one for the mouse and the other I can only assume is for the 'virtual' keyboard for the Remote Console.
Once again, thanks all.
Cheers, Stuart

Re: iLO II Remote Console Issue (no mouse control)
It's the first time I have seen this particular 'device class' listed and would not have normally checked for it. I had, however, checked all the other USB devices etc to make sure that they were enabled.
Unfortunately there is no HP documentation that even mentions 'USB Human Interface Devices' in the context of the Remote Console keyboard and mouse. Maybe now, they'll include it, and save some other poor sucker the time and effort that we have all put in.
Our standard server build, unknown to me, includes a couple of command scripts to disable all COM and USB ports. Havind done some further testing, it would appear that not only do the scripts not disable all of the ports that its suppose to, but it does not differentiate between 'USB' and 'USB Human Interface Devices'.
At least its all come out in the wash.....and the iLO people lived happily ever after.
