1st question - do I need to upgrade my IM V7.4 agents BEFORE upgrading HPSIM from 5.0 to 5.4?

Environment is all Windows - Windows 2000 server running HPSIM 5.0 which I wish to upgrade to SIM5.4

I do want to upgrade the agents as well (on both Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 clients) but have seen nothing to indicate in which order I should upgrade the systems - clients first or last?

You can do the clients anytime, as long as you are using 7.0 or higher, you're in good shape. SIM 5 SP4 is not dependent on the version of agents running.
