We have a shop with about 100+ servers all running W2K however we have 2 servers with 2003 and both show up in SIM as unmanaged in the system type? We can connect to them using system management home page. No options but HW show up in the all systems veiw for these 2 servers.
Any input?

Solution
By default, WS03 sets the SNMP Service to only accept traffic from localhost. Therefore, HP SIM doesn't get any responses when it queries and tries to collect data. At minimum add the HP SIM server to the accepted hosts. You also need to make sure a community string is defined as one isn't by default.

Re: 2003 servers showing up as unmanaged in SIM
Thanks David that worked. But now it seems that when we click on the VC agents in the all servers view nothing will come up? I can use the system management homepage though. Any thoughts on this ??

If your running the CMS on a Windows 2003 server, you need to add each server to the trusted sites under Internet Explorer.
