5.2 SP2 - automatic event handling taks not running

Just did a clean install of this, I created a automatic event to email me on critical and snmp events, it was working. Nothing changed and now it stopped working. When I reboot a system I can look at the events and see SNMP information but the email task does not run. Any ideas???

in manage tasks under auto event handling is your new task running when you create your 'critical' event.

Nope.. I went through and re-created the automatic event, shutdown a server and the tasks shows its never ran.

so event appears in sim but aeh task does not run - correct ?

Correct, I can go to the server in SIM and under events it will show a critical event (like when I shut the server down). But the task for emailing on critical alerts never runs.

all of those sub-events may not be critical, try just using 'severity is critical' and leave out the rfc1215 and it should work.
