Advanced configuration of HP Insight Agents

I've installed the the hpasm package on many of my RHEL 4 Linux DL 585s and 385s (several generations). I've recently learned the agents are empowered with the ability to reboot and shutdown the system. I would like to disable the agents ability to issue reboots and/or shutdowns, as well as find out what kind of other privileges they have. I contacted HP support who told me the agents can't be configured to that degree. It seems very odd though, considering the trap generated by the agents and forwarded to me through our SIM server specifies that the system will only shutdown based on a variable. The message is below.

"Event Name: Thermal Status Degraded (6018) Event originator: Event Severity: Critical Event received: 12-Dec-2007, 11:04:36

Event description: The temperature status has been set to degraded. The server``s temperature is outside of the normal operating range. The server will be shutdown if the cpqHeThermalDegradedAction variable is set to shutdown(3).

Thermal Degraded Action: shutdown"

Can anyone tell me how to perform/access advanced configuration for the HP Insight Agents?

Re: Advanced configuration of HP Insight Agents

I don't know how you do it from the command line, but you can change the default action for the thermal status from the web page.
On the SMH of my VMware ESX host server I go to Tasks->Recovery->Environment-Thermal Degraded Action.
It's under Tasks->System on my windows based server. So look somewhere under the Tasks part of the SMH.
