Upgraded HP SIM 5.3 to SP1 and then added Hotfixes. still running at constantly at 50%

Hi

We use SIM 5.3 with the HOTFIX53_001.jar (Build C.05.0300.00).
It's installed on w2k3 with sp2. We use a Oracle DB

I think we have the same error.

When we click OPTIONS -> DISCOVERY we get an error:

ERROR [[jsp]] Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
java.lang.NullPointerException
...

I have read the thread and have a question:

How can I check if we have installed PMP or RSB? Actually we don't need them.

There are several patches now available, I would get the latest hotfix kit and install it.

I upgraded my system last week to 5.3 SP1 and applied the May hotfix, and still have these issues!

Install all the compulsory packages from remote support software Manager and this may solve your problem.


Mine is now running at below 5% most of the time.

Hi Steven,
I have verified that I have all the compulsory packages installed. Yesterday I even removed and reinstalled the Remote Support Client A.05.30 per another post. I still have been unsuccessful in getting RSSWM to work.

I have another posting on that, but haven't gotten any responses.......

when I've installed rwssm I've just set it to auto to be honest it's cludgey software but once you set the default to auto it just installs everything in the right order.

if you don't do this it will not work right - hp engineer was onsite for us and I had to uninstall that, and all of the components and then re-install with leaving it set to auto - then everything worked.

Ultimately, I ended up reinstalling, not becasue of this error but becasuse I was given new hardware to run it on.
