An internal error has been detected in VPM

I've installed VPM and have successfully licensed and deployed the patch agent to two servers. I've also completed the VPM patch acquisition (with numerous download errors, although I understand from other threads that this is normal).

The issue is that when I try to scan a client for vulnerabilities I receive the error "Unable to connect to VPM scanner". Also, when I try to view the patch repository I get a "VPM Exception".

The event lists show a "VPM generic internal error" and further details of "Unable to Connect to VPM Scanner 301 error".

Any ideas anyone?

Is it possible the Patch Acquisition is still running?

Thanks for the idea about the acquisition still running but unfortunately not.

Has the HP SIM server had its name or IP changed? Make sure that you can properly use SSH on the HP SIM server.

Re: An internal error has been detected in VPM

David,

The name and IP of the server have not changed. SIM was installed using a local administrator account (NOT "Administrator"), as was VPM. Everything else appears to be working fine. Regarding your questions on SSH, unfortunately I know very little about this protocol. I can execute the Command Line Tools on the SIM server with no problems - does this verifiy that SSH is working correctly?
