avoid alerts during a short offline period?

A quick question: How do I set up SIM not to send alerts if I just restart my managed node? Also, if the managed node has gone offline too long, how do I get alerts like every 5 minute so I konw it has not been back up? Thanks.

There's no way to do either of those directly.
You can suspend monitoring of a server or servers if you have some planned outages.
HPSIM only generates a single event per outage detection.
