Blade server shows up in wrong enclosure in SIM

I moved "server-X" from c7000 enclosure "a" to c7000 enclosure "b" in the same cabinet. After waiting several hours, SIM does not sure the correct association. I ran an "indentify" job and a "data collection" job on the blade server, and it still shows up in the wrong enclosure. I deleted the server from SIM and re-added it, but SIM put it back in the same wrong enclosure!

Does anyone know how to fix this? I am running SIM 5.2 with SP2. I just updated the new enclosure to the latest firmware (OA, VC, etc.) and the blade server to the latest firmware.

Thanks

I'd run the ID task on the enclosure, I think it's that that does the assignments.

As Rob mentioned, Re-Identify the OA then, re-identify the Server

Re: Blade server shows up in wrong enclosure in SIM

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I ran an identify on the new enclosure OAs - nothing. I then ran an identifiy on the old enclosure OAs - nothing. I than ran an identify on the server object - nothing. It will not let me run an identify on the enclosure itself (assuming because there is no electronics in, for management purposes, and all of that is handled by the OAs).

Any other suggestions? I guess I could remove all blade objects and re-add them.

Thanks

Re: Blade server shows up in wrong enclosure in SIM

I deleted the server (again) and iLO from SIM, and then ran an identify job on the old enclosure. I then added the server and iLO back to SIM. It still put it in the old enclosure. Man - this thing is whacky! LOL.

Re: Blade server shows up in wrong enclosure in SIM

On the OA for the new enclosure is SNMP set up correctly to allow HPSIM access?
Have you done the HPSIM integration as well - not sure that would be needed.
Not exactly sure how it all hangs together but I do think it's done viie the OA.
From what I can see the OA discovers its enclosure which discovers the devices inside it. So you need to re-identify (or maybe even re-discover) the OA that now contains the server. May need to do that to the old OA so that it drops the references to the old server.
For both OA's I'd re-check SNMP & HPSIM integration, certs etc. are okay.
