I am a IM virign, so bear with me.
We originally had 4.2. The genius' here decided they wanted to upgrade to 5.0. Couldn't do the upgrade, ended up uninstalling 4.2 and installing 5.0.
Everything worked ok...for a couple hours.
While i was watching it run a couple tasks, all of a sudden, it froze up. I close the browser, tried to log back in. no can do. Reboot and try again. Login pics don't show up, can log in but when the next screen comes up, i get about an inch of image along the top, then nothing. Tried this locally, remotely, same thing.
I looked at the logs and OpenSSH failed to start. So i tried starting it. It starts, then stops right away. Is it supposed to do this?
So now i can't get into IM and have no idea where to start looking for the problem. I am thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling 4.2 again since it seemed to work without any issues.
Any advice??? please???

Solution
The fact it worked for a bit probably makes analysis more difficult.
There are some logs you can look at in the Program Files\HP\Insight Manager\logs (not exact syntax) directory.
OpenSSH should not stop HPSIM from working as it is not required for basic HPSIM operation.
What happens if you try and fire up the browser to HPSIm directly on the Server itself?

Re: Can't get into IM after upgrade.
We actually also had this issue with the OpenSSH service being unable to start, the cause was that we lost the profile-files under c:\documents and settings.
As we never were able to solve this even with complete reinstallation of OpenSSH we did a parallell installation instead and once it had discovered all systems we scratched the old one.
Lot of work but since we don't keep historical data relatively easy to do.

Re: Can't get into IM after upgrade.
Apparently a reinstall fixed it. A co-worker took it upon themselves to reinstall while i wasn't looking. But it works now so that's all that matters.
Thanks!!!
