Cannot license Virtual Machine Pack
The option to select "Deploy>Virtual Machine Management Pack> License Wizard" does not exist.
The only option here is "Deploy Windows Agent"
I have already successfully deployed the agent to a GSX host (all VM's are discovered), but the system subtype does not appear as a "Virtual Machine Host" as is supposed to according to the documentation.
I have deleted the GSX host, redsicvered, and about a half-dozen more combinations of adding, deleting and discovering. The system subtype definition of "Virtual Machine Host" never appears.
The host is running VMWare GSX 3.1
Not sure if this is affecting the visibilty of the License Wizard. Is there a way to invoke the license wizard manually, outside of the toolbar?
This is a clean install of SIM 4.2 and the VMP.
Thanks!

Re: Cannot license Virtual Machine Pack
Should add that I have been able to duplicate this -- twice.
Have deployed the agent to 3 GSX 3.1 servers but cannot even attempt to license any of them.

Re: Cannot license Virtual Machine Pack
I answered my own question.
I seem to be having a conversation with myself here.
I accidently stumbled upon where you can edit a system subtype. Once I manaully edited the system subtype to "Virtual Machine Host", then the "License Wizard" became available.
I was able to deploy the licenses, but when I launch the Virtual Machine Console, no nodes will show up.
I can't find anything more in the documentaiton.
Anyone from HP have any insight as to what may be going on here? We might even buy licenses for this product if we could get to the point where we could evaulate it. :)
