Cannot Start SIM After Restarting Service

Whenever I restart the HP Systems Insight Manager service from within Windows, I am forced to restart the server because HP SIM will not start. The service itself will restart properly, but the application will not load after the service has been recycled. Are there other services that need to be restarted if the HP Systems Insight Manager service is restarted? Any ideas on how to prevent the restart of the server when I need to restart the HP SIM service?

Does HP SIM have a web server component service that can be restarted? I have not been able to find anything in the list of system services.

Which SIM version? I have a similar issue in 5.0

Apparently there are a few issues with the way SIM tries to acces, create or add data to the SQL server.

How long did you wait after you restart the service? HPSIM typically will take about 2 minutes (for me atleast) to start responding after the restart of the service.

There different of ways in which you can start and stop the HPSIM service are:

1) Typical Windows service restart.
2) Using the SIM provided CLI
mxstop - To stop the service
mxstart - To start the service

yeah i have to point to the reply above, it usually takes two minutes for the manager to load up. if you try to run it straight after restarting the service you will get stuck at the waiting for HTTP service screen.
