Converting Windows Event Log entries to SNMP traps

Hi all,

I know this has been discussed before, but for the life of me I can't find the posting. I would like a mechanism for converting Windows Event Log errors and warnings to SNMP traps to be sent to HPSIM. I know of one possible mechanism, the built-in eventcmd and eventwin commands, but I'd like to know if anyone has found anything (preferably free, but cheap is an option) that they like.

Thanks,

Re: Converting Windows Event Log entries to SNMP traps

You're looking for EVNTWIN or its command-line cousing EVNTCMD. However, after months of searching, I have not found a MIB to pair up with it. That means you'll have to set hpSIM to accept unregistered traps and deal with the raw information.

Hmm, I see... well, thanks! I'll give it a try.
