Custom List of Systems based on software/firmware
I'm trying to create some custom lists of systems using the software/firmware attribute, and though I know that the information I provide is accurate (target OS and PSP version) - the resulting list is empty, it doesn't show any system with that property. I have SIM 4.2 SP2 on a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, and everything else is working fine (I can create other lists based on different attributes, but not on the software/firmware property). Any ideas?

Re: Custom List of Systems based on software/firmware
You want to create a custom list (baseline) for your software with the firmware in it.
First you have a repository, in this repository you have put all of your software, they have all the form cp00xxxx.exe. When you rescan or create the repository a cp00xxxx.mnf is created. Which tells you it is adopted by the "database". If this file is not there, something is wrong.
For the firmware you have to download the cp00xxxx.exe online update from the HP site. (Only cpxxxxxx.exe files will work). Place this one in your repository with a file explorer and then rescan the repository. Now it should be available.
Hope this was your question, Rijn

Re: Custom List of Systems based on software/firmware
Rijn, the answer is no, I'm not interested in creating a Software baseline within the VCRM, I want to create a custom list of systems/servers in SIM based on the Software/Firmware attributes.
Stefan, I read the messages posted in the thread you indicated, and yes, I'm having a similar issue, and maybe you have just provide me with a workaround. What I mean is that I didn't create the custom list because the result of it was an empty list, even though I know that it shouldn't have according to the HP ProLiant software and firmware installed on our servers (and accurately reported by the VCA), but maybe it just need some time to update that list (because that's part of the bi-weekly data collection or something like that), so I'm going to give it another try, create the list and check it daily to see if it's going to be updated at some point in time.
Thank you again for your input.
