Detection of NIC card failures joined under teaming software
Hello,
Most of our servers are deployed with multiple NIC cards. We have implemented teaming software that masks multiple MACs associated with the NIC cards underneath. The teaming software presents a single virtual interface (one IP, one MAC address) to the management software.
If there is a failure of one of the NIC cards, the server is not affected (as the backup NIC card gracefully takes over). Ofcourse, we'd like to detect and fix the NIC card failure before it affects the service.
Does SIM detect this failure? Is there a way to detect this without implementing SIM (such as parsing for errors in Windows log file)?
I'd appreciate your help.
Thank you.

Re: Detection of NIC card failures joined under teaming software
Yes, we use the HP Network Teaming software. However, we are not leveraging Insight agents at this point.
Is that the only way to track this info? Can we access any MIB or Error log files for detecting hardware failure errors?
