Does HP SIM register itself as an SNMP trap reciever?

On several netware boxes, I can swear up and down that I did not modify the traptarg.cfg file that contains the address for SNMP traps, yet, in several cases it seems our insight server is located in that file.

Does SIM have automatic trap receiver registration? Perhaps I initiated a command within SIM to register itself by mistake?

No. The closest thing is a new feature in 4.2 called "Configure or repair agents [Windows]" that uses Windows OS security to poke and prod the agents and SNMP service to correct any settings that would prevent HP SIM communications. Nothing like that for NetWare.

Alright ;) Thanks.

Perhaps I totally just purged my RAM on that one -- I can't for the life of me remembering modifying one server out of 50+

heh.

Thanks :)
