Hi all:
I am a newbie when it comes to SIM.
What I have; HPUX 11.x systems on HW ranging from rp7400 to ia64 systems.
SIM C.04.02 running on winblows 2K
I am wanting to configure the EMS monitoring to send the alerts to the SIM server. I have configured the EMS to send via SNMP trap to the IP address of the SIM server.
I am still not getting any messages. I do have a custom command setup and I test it OK.
Where to next?...

Solution
The community name you're using needs to be valid at both ends.
If that's okay the next question is does HPSIM know what to do with the SNMP Traps it gets.
It may be that it is just reporting them as Informational.
Try expanding the Events section in the Left Hand Panel to display ALL Events. I got caught by this when some generic unregistered events were being flagged as Informational.
If nothing is appearing here then it would seem they're not getting to HPSIM. Is the SNMP Sender in HPSIMs discovery range?
