Help with out of disk space notification

I am using SIM 4.1 and I would simply like the system notify me with an email when a servers diskspace reaches 90%. I have been trying to make it work using a critical event but it never seems to work. Is there anything tricky about trying to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have the SMTP stuff set correctly because I do get an email when a server has a critical event.

Have you set the thresholds on the Agent for Disk Space?

From HPSIM, click on the Server entry and look at the Events Tab, you should see the events generated for a particular Server.

I think threshold events are typically major, not critical.

I have set the threshholds but when I fill up a drive and go above the warning or critical threshholds I never get an email notification. Can someone confirm that it is a major, minor, critical, or informational event?

Another item to help get the events is to configure the HP Event Notfier Service. It has a built in SMTP engine that when "host's" web agents are configured for Warning and Critical for Disk Space this will trigger the HP Event Notifier Service to send out the message as well.

You may want to check the MIB itself and modify it for a higher severity...

Are you saying that I need to configure the event notifier service on every server that I want to be notified from? Does this mean that if my notifier service is disabled that the managed tasks in SIM won't work?
Is the event notifier service independent of the SIM managed tasks?

Was there any solution to this problem, I have exactly the same issue and it seems crazy to have to configure every server to email you, we have more than 65?

There are lots of other MIBS that we would like to get emails from too, but they don't seem to work - only reachable / unreadable seems to email us! Maybe there is another setting!!

No solution yet but I am working with a support person from HP and I seem to have him stumped also. He is calling me back later today and I will get back to eveyone when we come up with a solution. We do know for sure that the traps are getting sent to the SIM server, an alert is not ever generated though.
